New Tata Curvv EV: Advanced Features and Technologies Unveiled
Once more tantalizing the future Tata Curvu EV, Tata Motors is showcasing fascinating new technologies it will share with Nexon. This fresh glimpse attests to the rotary drive mode selector, paddle shifters, and digital driver’s display of the Curvv.
Tata Curvice will be India’s first mass-market SUV-coupe. The most recent teaser emphasizes a completely digital driver’s display, most likely the same 10.25-inch model as the Tata Nexon EV. It also displays a lane-keep assist feature, implying for the Curvv EV sophisticated driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control.
Another tool the Curvv EV adopts from the Nexon EV will help with energy regeneration: paddle shifters. Additionally showing a rotating drive mode selection, the teaser suggests three driving modes for the Curvv EV: Eco, City, and Sport.
Among the several powertrain choices the Curvv offers are petrol, diesel, and electric. For the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant, it is estimated to be priced roughly Rs 10.50 lakh; for the EV model, it is roughly Rs 20 lakh. The Curvv EV should first show before the ICE model.
The Tata Curvu EV is expected to have a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. As safety elements, we expect six airbags, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and electronic stability control (ESC). Higher-end models could have front parking sensors, a 360-degree video, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Claiming a range of about 500 km, Tata’s Acti.ev platform forecasts two battery pack options for the EV model; the official specs of the Curvu’s powertrains are yet unclear. Inspired by the Nexon, the ICE version will most likely have a new 1.2-liter T-GDi turbo-petrol engine (125 PS/225 Nm) and a familiar 1.5-liter diesel engine (115 PS/260 Nm), with dual-clutch automatic gearbox (DCT) and 6-speed manual transmission options.
With the forthcoming Hyundai Creta EV, the MG ZS EV, and the Maruti Suzuki eVX, we see the Tata Curvv EV vying for market share with The ICE model will compete with other little SUVs including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
With the forthcoming release of the Tata Curved EV and ICE models, Tata Motors is likely to have a big influence on the SUV-coupe market. As the debut date gets near, keep tuned for further updates.
