Maruti Suzuki Signs ₹35,000 Crore Agreement for Second Gujarat Mega-Plant
Maruti Suzuki India Limited is going to set up a factory at Khoraj, which is near Ahmedabad. They have made a deal, with the Gujarat government to do this. Maruti Suzuki India Limited will spend a lot of money, ₹35,000 crore on this factory.
The Gujarat government and Maruti Suzuki India Limited made this deal official on Saturday, January 17 2026. On that day Managing Director Hisashi Takeuchi gave the investment plan to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Maruti Suzuki India Limited is really moving forward with this project.
The company is building a project and this will be their second big place in the state. They already have a place at Hansalpur. The new place will be really big. Cover about 1,750 acres of land. The Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation or GIDC, for short has set aside this land for the company that makes cars, the automaker.
Production Capacity and Staged Rollout
The Khoraj plant is built to make a lot of vehicles every year one million to be exact. The company has told the state that they will do this project in four parts. Each part will add 2.5 lakh vehicles to what they can make in total. The Khoraj plant will get bigger and better with each of these four parts.
Work on the construction will start soon. The first cars will be made at the factory during the 2028 to 2029 year. When this factory is working at speed Maruti Suzuki will be able to make a lot of cars in Gujarat. This includes the Hansalpur plant and the new fourth line that is coming.
