IndusInd Bank is making a change in its boardroom. They have picked Arijit Basu to be the Part-time Chairman. He used to be the Managing Director of the State Bank of India. This change is happening because Sunil Mehtas time as chairman is over. He was chairman for three years. Did a good job. During that time the bank dealt with a lot of uncertainty after the pandemic. Also got a lot bigger in the areas of microfinance and retail. IndusInd Bank is getting someone with a lot of experience, from the State Bank of India Arijit Basu to be its Part-time Chairman.

The appointment got the okay from the Reserve Bank of India. This happened already. The appointment starts in January 2026. The person will be in this position, for three years. The Reserve Bank of India gave the signal for the appointment.
