Axis and HDFC Bank Online Banking Down This Weekend

System updates scheduled by HDFC Bank and Axis Bank this weekend would momentarily affect online banking services. Both banks have told their 140 million combined clients that these disruptions are required to upgrade their core banking systems and enhance the client experience.

Service Disruption in HDFC Bank

From 3:00 AM to 3:45 AM and from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM, HDFC Bank has stated that their UPI services will not be available on July 13, 2024. Though there are some restrictions, consumers can still use their debit and credit cards for transactions during these periods. The bank will also restrict the use of debit cards for restricted ATM withdrawals. To improve client service, the bank is modernizing its basic banking system on a new platform.

The upgrade will impact a few services provided by HDFC Bank.

UPI Services will be unavailable on July 13 from 3:00 a.m. to 3:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.We will handle card payments; we will delay updates for purchases made the day before.Not available will be cash deposits, fund transfers, mini statements, bill payments, and cardless cash withdrawals.Money Transfers: Online transfers between IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, and HDFC Bank account-to-account Online and mobile banking will still be available.Axis Bank service disturbance

Axis Bank’s downtime will be greater. Services including online and mobile banking, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS money transfers, credit card transactions, mutual fund subscriptions, and lending services will not be available from 10:00 p.m. on July 12 until 9:00 a.m. on July 14. This is part of Axis Bank’s continuous integration initiatives, which it expects to finish in 18 months after acquiring Citi India’s retail division.

Both banks urge their clients to make ahead-of-time plans for their transactions in order to reduce inconvenience. During these times, it is advisable to withdraw sufficient funds and arrange alternative payment methods.

HDFC Bank advises, in particular, preparing all financial transactions in advance and withdrawing sufficient money by 7:30 PM on Friday, July 12, 2024.
