Srikanth Bolla: Overcoming Obstacles with Unstoppable Will

Srikanth Bolla, born on July 7, 1991, in Seetharamapuram, Andhra Pradesh, battled right from the start.

Overcoming Difficulties

Early in childhood, he was from a household dependent on farming and from ignorant parents with visual handicaps. Srikanth’s career is evidence of resiliency and drive given minimal resources, no power, and education as a luxury. He never let his handicap dictate his destiny, even with social and intellectual hurdles.

Academic Trials and Success

During his academic career, Srikanth suffered. He planned to study science in tenth school, but poor vision caused rejection. Though his XII board test results were 98%, his school lacked facilities for visually challenged kids. But Srikanth was stubborn and generated a court case he filed, which he won six months later; so, he became the first visually challenged student in Andhra Pradesh engaged in scientific activity. His resilience amid trying circumstances led up his later accomplishments.

Constructing a Vision

2011 saw Srikanth open a braille printing press and co-found the Samanvai Center for Children with Multiple Disabilities. His goal was to give many impaired students educational, vocational, and rehabilitative programs enabling them to lead financially independent lives. Starting Bollant Industries in 2012 with Ravi Mantha, Srikanth created environmentally friendly products and hired hundreds of disabled people. Rapidly expanding, Bollant Industries addresses environmental, financial, employment, and other general concerns as well.

Respect and Ongoing Influence

Srikanth Bolla works not in silence. One of just three Indians on the “30 Under 30” list Forbes produced in 2017 spanning all of Asia. Pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, Srikanth, director of Surge Impact Foundation, is always pushing constraints. For others as much as for oneself, his work shows how dramatically a well-defined purpose and relentless dedication can change life.
