Pune Machine Tool Expo and FACTEQ 2024 will Drive Manufacturing Advancements in India
Pune, Maharashtra, May, 2024— The third edition of the Pune Machine Tool Expo (PMTX) and the inaugural Factory Equipment Expo (FACTEQ), held by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA), began on May 25, 2024, at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Center. These events will culminate on May 28, 2024, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to present cutting-edge technology and solutions in metal cutting, metal forming, and industrial equipment.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by distinguished visitors such as Mr. Farrokh N. Cooper, Chairman & Managing Director of Cooper Corporation Private Limited, and Mr. Amol Nagar, Executive Director – Global Supply Chain of GE Aerospace in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. S. S. Survase, Joint Director of Industries, Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, was present as the Special Guest. The occasion was presided over by key IMTMA leaders including President Rajendra S. Rajamane, Vice President Mohini Kelkar, Chairman of the IMTMA Regional Council (West) Rajesh Mandlik, and Director General & CEO Jibak Dasgupta.
With over 230 exhibitors from all parts of India, the expo provides a unique opportunity for industry leaders to explore new technology and network. The ceremony emphasizes Maharashtra’s critical position in India’s economy, with Mr. S. S. Survase pointing out the state’s contribution of more than 15% to national GDP. He underscored the government’s efforts to encourage MSMEs and attract domestic and foreign investment, pointing out that Maharashtra has roughly 18,000 export-oriented industrial enterprises.
Mr. Amol Nagar emphasized GE’s considerable position in the aerospace manufacturing sector, with a market share of more than 60%. He argued that the broader industrial sector should adopt the aviation industry’s best practices, notably in terms of safety, quality, and environmental health and safety.
Mr. Farrokh N. Cooper focused on Cooper Corporation’s transition from component manufacturing to engine and tractor production, praising IMTMA for its significant contributions to India’s industrial growth.
Speaking about the expo, IMTMA President Rajendra S. Rajamane stated, “The Pune Machine Tool Expo is meant to interact with area industries by delivering cutting-edge technologies straight to their doorsteps for sustainable development. IMTMA has a significant presence in Maharashtra, and we work closely with the government to promote industry growth in the state. This year’s expo has doubled in size, making it the largest machine tool display in the region.
In tandem, Kennametal India Ltd.’s WIDMA Machining Solutions Group demonstrated revolutionary machining solutions at PMTX, including the new MacHX800 Horizontal Machining Center and the BPG-15 Blank Profile Grinding Machine. Dadasaheb Gore, COO of Ultra Corpotech Private Ltd., launched the WIDMA booth, which showcased the company’s dedication to continual innovation and high performance standards.
Kennametal India Limited’s Managing Director, Vijaykrishnan Venkatesan, expressed excitement about using the PMTX platform to showcase their innovative machining solutions, which are poised to help customers achieve difficult machining goals in a variety of industries.
