Siri’s "Campos" Era: Apple Abandons the Old Playbook for a Google-Powered AI Future

The technology world is really surprised by what Apple did. This has made Alphabet worth a lot of money four trillion dollars. Apple is stopping its plan to do things by itself when it comes to artificial intelligence. People who work at Apple are. Other people in the industry are saying the same thing. Apple is in the middle of making some changes, to Siri. They are calling this project “Campos”. By the end of 2026 Siri will be totally different. It will be a kind of chatbot that is powered by something called LLM. This means Siri will be able to understand and talk to people in a better way. Apple is making Siri a big part of its system so it will be able to do a lot things for users.

The change comes after people who know about these things said that the new 2024 Apple Intelligence was not really exciting to people. To make its devices smarter Apple has made a deal with Google that will cost one billion dollars every year. This deal will let Apple use Gemini 3 as the brain for its new devices. Apple is doing this to make its devices more intelligent. The deal with Google and Gemini 3 is a step, for Apple.

The “Campos” Roadmap: Two Waves of Intelligence

Apple is not waiting until the end of the year to get things started. The rollout of Apple is split into two parts:

In the Spring of 2026 Apple is coming out with an update for iOS, which is version 26.4. This update is like a bridge that connects things. It has Apple Foundation Models version 10. The new Apple Foundation Models has a lot of information. 1.2 Trillion parameters. Apple Foundation Models is really good at knowing things about the world. It is also good at seeing what is, on the screen. This means Siri can understand what you are looking at now.

September 2026 is when we can expect the iOS 27 “Rave” to come out. This is also when the full “Campos” launch happens. The old Siri “glow” will be gone. Instead we will have a full-screen chatbot interface. This new interface can do a lot of things. It can. Think about things, in multiple steps. It can also generate images. Analyze complex files. We will be able to use this on our Mac, which will have macOS “Fizz” and on our iPhone and iPad. The “Campos” launch is going to change how we interact with our devices.Apple is not just adding a chat window they are getting rid of the way Siri works. One analyst says this.

Under “Campos” if you ask Siri to find the photo of the receipt from Tuesday and email it to your accountant the Apple artificial intelligence actually goes through your files and email on its own to do this. The Apple artificial intelligence does all of this by itself which is really different from how Siri worksThis is a change for Apple and, for Siri.Privacy vs. Power: The “Private Cloud Compute” Bet

The biggest problem for Apple is that Googles Gemini model uses a lot of data. This is not what Apple is about. Apple is about being private. So what did they do? They came up with something called Private Cloud Compute or PCC for short. This is Apples way of dealing with Googles Gemini model. Still being private which is what Apples brand is all, about being private is what Apple says it does first.

While the “Campos” chatbot will rely on Google’s AFM v11 (the custom 2026 version of Gemini 3), the actual processing will happen on Apple’s own silicon-based servers. This “Stateless AI” architecture ensures that your personal data is never stored or accessible to Google or even Apple fulfilling the promise of a “blind” AI assistant.
