Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh  The grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is all set to be fully opened to the public with a special consecration ceremony from June 3 to June 5, 2025. This event is not only important for religious reasons but also marks a major moment in India’s cultural and political history.
The temple is being built at the place many Hindus believe to be the birthplace of Lord Ram, a respected god in Hinduism. After years of court cases, political debates, and social discussions, the temple is now almost complete and ready for its final rituals.

A Long-Awaited Ceremony

The consecration ceremony will be held during Ganga Dussehra, a holy festival. According to the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, over 100 Vedic scholars from Ayodhya and Kashi will take part in the religious rituals. They will help place eight important idols inside the temple, including Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Annapurna, and Lord Hanuman.
The temple’s design also includes a special Ram Darbar (Lord Ram’s court) on the first floor and smaller temples for other gods at different corners of the temple complex.

A Religious and Political Milestone

The first phase of the temple was opened on January 22, 2024, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the idol installation ceremony. He called it a “new beginning” for India.

“January 22 was not just a date it was a moment of cultural awakening,” Modi said during the event.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has supported the Ram Mandir project for many years. Its completion is seen as a major achievement for the party and could impact upcoming elections. Many believe the temple will boost BJP’s image among its supporters.

A Temple Rooted in History and Faith

The temple is being constructed on land believed by millions of Hindus to be the birthplace of Lord Ram, a revered deity in Hindu mythology. For decades, the site has been at the center of a long and often contentious legal and social debate. The demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992 sparked widespread unrest and became a defining chapter in India’s modern history.
In November 2019, the Supreme Court of India ruled in favor of the temple’s construction while ordering that an alternate plot of land be allocated for a mosque. That verdict set the foundation for what is now taking shape in Ayodhya an expansive temple complex designed in the Nagara style of architecture, rich with symbolism and tradition.
